About this collection

This collection consists of selections from the Kenneth Faye Dance Photography Collection. These 8x10 black and white printed photographs of professional ballet performances from the 1960s and 1970s were selected for a Spring 2013 exhibition in the Tauni de Lessops Art Gallary on the campus of Palm Beach Atlantic University. The photographs, taken by various photographers, feature performances by American Ballet Theatre, The Royal Ballet, The Australian Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet, The Cleveland Ballet, The National Ballet of Canada, The National Ballet of Cuba, The Martha Graham Dance Company, and The
Murray Louis Dance Company as well as publicity stills, curtain calls, and autograph signings of featured performers.

Kenneth Faye was a balletomane who lived in New York, New York. He was friends with dancer / choreographer Dennis Nahat and with Jennifer Dunning, a dance critic from The New York Times. Many of the photographs from the collection were given to him by these two individuals as well as by the photographers themselves. The entire collection consists of 488 photographs were donated to the University by Kathleen Klein, Professor of Dance.
